Broad Coalition of National, State and Community Organizations and Businesses Continues to Grow, Highlighting the Critical Role of Low Earth Orbit Satellite Technology in Expanding Broadband Access

The Connect Everyone Coalition (CEC) reached an exciting new milestone, surpassing 60 members in its mission to connect everyone, everywhere.

This broad and diverse coalition unites leaders and experts across a diversity of fields, including healthcare, education, agriculture, connectivity and more behind a shared mission of using every technology to finally bridge the digital divide and extend reliable internet connectivity to all Americans.

Inaugural members like the National Grange, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, Amazon, Connected Nation, the Friday Institute and Open Technology Institute are now joined by organizations including the Chamber of Progress, the United States Black Chambers, James Madison Institute, National Asian/Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce and Entrepreneurship, United Way North Carolina, state and minority chambers and farm bureaus, local businesses, veteran groups, tech professionals and others.

CEC Executive Director Richard Cullen said:

“Our coalition’s strength lies in the unique perspectives our members bring to the table. CEC membership spans more than a dozen states and covers nearly every industry. We’re grateful to be able to lean on the expertise of these partners and to have their support as we continue to ensure we employ every tool in our connectivity toolbox to bridge the digital divide and connect everyone, everywhere with the high-speed, reliable internet they need to thrive in modern-day America.”

CEC champions the incorporation of all technologies, including the innovative new option of low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite broadband, to finally and fully bridge the digital divide. This new generation of satellites orbits much closer to Earth in more numerous constellations, providing nearly fiber-like speeds to users on the ground. And by freeing users and communities from the need for traditional in-ground infrastructure, LEO satellites provide a unique solution for rural and remote regions where traditional technologies do not yet reach or may never reach due to financial factors or geographic barriers. The rapid deployment of LEO technology is an essential part of achieving the goal of universal connectivity.
