The Connect Everyone Coalition looks back on a landmark first year—with nearly 10 times its starting membership, major year-one successes.

May 5, 2026 – The Connect Everyone Coalition (CEC) celebrates its first year of advocating for fast, affordable broadband for everyone, everywhere by expanding access to all connectivity technologies.

Since launching last April, the coalition has grown from 12 founding members to nearly 120 local, state, national and international members. Coalition members work together to support a tech-neutral approach to bridging the digital divide that employs all connectivity solutions, including promising new solutions such as low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite broadband.

In the last 12 months, the Connect Everyone Coalition has …

  • Engaged federal agency officials and policymakers across the aisle through direct engagement and sign-on letters on the importance of modernizing space policy and tech-neutral connectivity solutions;
  • Supported policy at the state and federal levels to reduce regulatory barriers, promote innovation and enable even the most rural and remote Americans to access the 21st-century connectivity they need to thrive;
  • Hosted four webinars on the importance of connected agriculture and education and the real-world wins of investment and innovation in space-based technologies like LEO satellite broadband;
  • Published six thought leadership pieces by CEC members on the importance of connectivity and technological innovation;
  • Participated in industry conferences and conversations, discussing the importance of using every tool in our connectivity toolbox to connect everyone, everywhere.

“We are excited to be celebrating such a milestone first year of activity,” says CEC Executive Director Richard Cullen. “We are grateful to our many members, who joined this movement early and are playing instrumental roles in positioning our coalition as a fast-rising, fast-growing national leader in advocating for connectivity. We look forward to continuing this momentum next year and for years to come.”

“This is a critical time for the future of connectivity in the U.S. and beyond. The policy decisions made today will impact the ability of students, families, businesses and governments to get online anywhere and everywhere,” says Michael Calabrese, Director of New America’s Wireless Future Program and CEC Board Member. “Thanks to its broad and diverse membership, the Connect Everyone Coalition is giving decisionmakers a fresh look at what connectivity means to the average American and the importance of doing all we can to support innovation that helps us quickly extend high-speed, reliable internet to even the most out-of-the-way American communities and locations.”

This month, the Coalition is excited to be hosting Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Space Bureau Chief Jay Schwarz for a fireside chat discussing the latest in the connectivity landscape, exciting developments in the broader space economy and the need for regulatory reform to keep innovation moving.
