In case you missed it, the Chamber of Progress recently published an op-ed exploring how innovative policies are inextricably linked to America’s 21st-century leadership in space.

In the piece, the Chamber’s Associate Policy Director Aden Hizkias underscores the need for “good policies that support innovation at pace and enable industry investment to continue scaling,” especially considering the growing rate of space-based technology, like low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites, and the upcoming World Radiocommunication Conference in 2027 (WRC-27).

From the piece:

“LEO satellites can connect families, schools and small businesses that previously had no internet options and create a resiliency safety net in other communities when infrastructure may fail. … We deserve a forward-thinking policy that supports innovation that improves our lives. When smart policies win, they create meaningful opportunities for people everywhere. Lawmakers should approach the WRC-27 with this goal in mind. The competition in space is intensifying. Americans should be ready to lead.”

Advancing forward-thinking policy and reducing regulatory red tape is the next step in securing American leadership in space. With the right policies and regulatory support, space innovation can bolster economic gains, transform high-speed internet and connect people everywhere.
