The Connect Everyone Coalition (CEC) today released the following statement on President Trump’s executive order, “Ensuring American Space Superiority,” which outlines a national policy to strengthen U.S. leadership in space exploration, technology and commerce.

“The Connect Everyone Coalition applauds the Administration’s focus on space exploration and the commercial innovation that underpins it,” said CEC Executive Director Richard Cullen. “This executive order rightly recognizes that space entrepreneurship, launch modernization and expanded low Earth orbit communications will be critical for the next era of American leadership. Just as connectivity is vital on Earth, it will be indispensable in space if the United States aims to advance the Artemis program, return to the Moon or establish a lunar outpost.”

The “Ensuring American Space Superiority” executive order identifies several key priorities aligned with CEC’s goal of space policy modernization and our mission to expand broadband access:

• Launch Modernization: Accelerate access and reduce costs for operators and innovators in the space sector by prioritizing efficient launch systems and architectures.
• Acquisition Reform: Create a responsive and adaptive national security space architecture by accelerating acquisition reform, integrating commercial space capabilities and enabling new market entrants.
• Commercial Investment: Target $50 billion in space economy investments by 2028 through streamlined facilities, policy updates and higher launch cadence to fuel space market expansion.​

CEC looks forward to continuing to work with the Administration, Congress, industry stakeholders and fellow advocates to ensure that America’s space policy supports the communications infrastructure we need to achieve our connectivity goals.
