In case you missed it — Amazon Leo has partnered with Arianespace to carry out six additional launches, enough to deploy over 800 additional Leo satellites to low Earth orbit.

Arianespace has already completed three heavy-lift launches for Amazon Leo, deploying 100 satellites in less than five months. The 36 satellites for Amazon Leo’s next launch with Arianespace, Leo Europe 4 (LE-04), have already been delivered to Kourou and stacked on their dispenser. This long-term launch agreement with Amazon Leo supports hundreds of suppliers and thousands of highly skilled jobs across Europe, with Arianespace’s supply chain running through 13 European countries, employing more than 600 companies and contributing an estimated €2.8 billion to GDP.

This partnership supports Arianespace’s growing launch capacity and ability to make space-based connectivity accessible to those on Earth.

Vice President of Amazon Leo Business and Product Chris Weber explains:

“Europe isn’t just a region we are going to serve. Europe’s launch infrastructure is part of the operational architecture of the Amazon Leo constellation. We committed early because we believed in what Arianespace was building, and they’ve executed mission after mission. Expanding from 18 to 24 launches reflects our confidence in Ariane 6 and our continued investment in European launch capability.”

CEO of Arianespace David Cavailloles puts it this way:

“We are delighted to reach this new stage in our partnership with Amazon Leo. These six additional launches demonstrate Amazon Leo’s confidence in the performance and reliability of Ariane 6, as well as in the expertise of our teams. Long-term commitments from customers such as Amazon Leo support the ramp-up of Ariane 6 and strengthen our business model.”

This agreement builds on Amazon Leo’s plan to launch its initial service rollout this year, with more than 100 launches secured across multiple providers to expand LEO coverage and capacity globally.
