ICYMI: Pennsylvania Grange President Highlights Rural Connectivity Needs During Grange Month
In case you missed it, Pennsylvania State Grange President Matt Espenshade authored an op-ed underscoring the critical role of connectivity for rural and farming communities in celebrating April as Grange Month. The piece, “Internet Access a Crucial Tool for Modern Farming,” was widely picked up across Pennsylvania, including: The Scranton Times-Tribune, The Wilkes-Barre Citizens Voice, The Pottsville Republican Herald and the Hazleton Standard Speaker.
In the op-ed, Espenshade highlights the urgent need to close the digital divide in rural communities and emphasizes the importance of supporting innovative solutions like low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite broadband to reach even the most remote areas. He also calls on policymakers to modernize regulations and ensure a level playing field for all broadband technologies to better serve underserved populations.
