Join the Connect Everyone Coalition (CEC) for a fireside chat with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Space Bureau Chief Jay Schwarz. This virtual event will feature a discussion between Schwarz and CEC Executive Director Richard Cullen as Schwarz discusses new developments in connectivity, the broadening of the space economy and the importance of modernizing outdated regulations.

This fireside chat is open to CEC members, Hill staff, industry organizations and interested stakeholders. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear directly from and ask questions of Chief Schwarz on the U.S. space industry, cutting-edge advances in connectivity technology such as low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite internet capabilities and the policy updates the FCC is championing to help innovators make more progress in closing the digital divide.

The event will be livestreamed and is open to the press.

Discussion topics will include…

  • The connectivity landscape — including rural connectivity and the role of new space-based innovations, such as low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite broadband.
  • Exciting developments in the broader space economy and their impact on job creation, wage growth, innovation and expanding opportunity.
  • The need for regulatory reform — such as modernizing outdated restrictions on equivalent power flux density (EPFD) and spectrum access — to maintain U.S. space leadership and allow 21st-century innovations to scale up.
